You may have noticed I'm not on Social Media.
That because I don't think its healthy. You know what I'm talking about. Between family and friends and politics and "perfect photos" and opinions and notifications I arrived at a breaking-point. I've spent the last 30 years being "on" all the time. I have to mentally prepare myself to run to the grocery store or the gas station to hear "Hey Johnny!" from down the isle. While its an absolute honor that anybody cares who I am, its also mentally exhausting.
Many industry "experts" have told me that these days its a career-ender to shutdown social media. But I disagree. I believe music finds its audience. Social media is one way of reaching your audience but I used mailers back in the day and then email for years with much success. Also with the direction of music streaming, music servers are serving as a discovery platform.
I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm trying to be healthy in a crazy world. And this enables me to be more genuine when I see fans in person. Thank you for understanding.
